Navigating the publishing industry in Canada has been an exciting adventure for me, and I have Ryerson University to thank for giving me knowledge in this area, and contributing to the development of Kya Publishing. The article below was featured in Ryerson University's Perfect Bound magazine, outlining my first-person experiences as a distance education student.

Why I'm Willing to Forgive Kevin Hart...

I almost didn't read Kevin Hart's book "I Can't Make This Up" because of his recent infidelity scandal. I have been a die hard fan for a few years now, have even traveled out of country (OK, so it was just Buffalo, NY) to see his stand up show, and I'm definitely a follower of his social media profiles. Eniko is a Jamaican girl (brap brap), so I was thrilled to learn more about her, about them as a couple, and live the hype Hollywood life through their photos, interviews, and Insta-stories. That's what they are there for, right? Our entertainment! I was 100% invested into the Kevin Hart story, and loved to see him hustling his book "I Can't Make This Up" earlier this year. As a writer, and publisher, and urban cultural enthusiast, Kevin Hart hit all of my favourite things this year. Kevin Hart & The Wayans Bringing Funny Back to Television

I mentioned it back in July 2009 after checking out a comedy show from Toronto's own Trixx , and again in November 2009 with the renaissance of Twitter humour with Affion Crockett, Nile Evans, Craig Wayans, Damian Dante Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr., DeRay Davis , and a few others in their circle of funny men. I was laughing that year...a lot, thanks to them. Kevin Hart was on SNL this past weekend, the Wayans family were on Oprah and it reminded me that I MISS LAUGHTER! Good old-fashioned sitting in front of the TV and actually laughing out loud. Sometimes years go by and there's no one hot out there, no one doing anything overtly hilarious. And then every now and then there's a wave of comedic genius back in the air , and it's stand-up time again. This is one of those times. Who doesn't love comedy?
